📍Spanish Diner🥘 The Best of NYC Restaurant Week Series 2023 🌆

🍃 Vibes and Ambiance

I wanted to have a few more casual hangouts among the more posh dining experiences. And so what better cuisine to try out than Spanish. Honestly, I haven’t eaten a whole lot of Spanish restaurants so this is definitely a refreshing experience for me. The Spanish Diner is located within the ground level Shops at Hudson Yards. The setup is definitely reminiscence of a food hall kinda setup.

🧫 Dishes

For starter: El Gazpacho y su Liturga

So this is Spanish cold pureed tomatoes soup with olive oil, originating from the Andalucía region of Spain. The dish comes with cucumbers, onions as toppings on the side. Taste is very unique, unlike anything I’ve eaten before, it’s like liquid soup. Very tomato-y yet also very very chilled and refreshing.

Main: Arroz a la Cubana

I actually did not know what to expect going into this dish. The Cuban-style dish features fried eggs, sausage and tomato sauce served with white rice. The budget-friendly dish is packed with comforting flavors and is definitely something I’ll try to cook at home.

Dessert: Flan de mama Marisa con nata

Ok, flans is actually one of my favorite desserts back in Vietnam. It’s just a very popular dessert that you can find at almost all corner shops. And so when I see anything that resembles a caramel flan, I’d immediately order. The Flan de mama Marisa con nata is definitely very rich and sweet, as it’s also accompanied by fresh whipped cream. Just absolutely nostalgic!
